Imaging technique: 

An adult female Octopus defilippi in a laboratory aquarium. This animal was reared from a field-collected free swimming paralarval stage that was brought into the lab. This species has very long arms. Note the general mottle coloration with skin texturing. This is a fairly rare species in the Caribbean. It is also known from the Mediterranean Sea.
