Imaging technique:

A mating pair of S. lessoniana swimming in the vicinity of a spawning area. The female in the background is showing a longitudinal stripe running the length of the body and through the eye, onto the head and arm. This is a disruptive body pattern. The female's distal mantle can be seen to be slightly distended by the mature ovary, while the male in the foreground shows a more tapered distal mantle outline.

Maturity: Adults; Sex: Male, female; Lab or Wild: Wild; Field Location: W. pacific, e. japan
