Carcass of giant squid laid out on floor of laboratory. Typical of most specimens, most of epidermis is missing however the characteristic reddish coloration of the skin can be seen. One of the extremely long feeding tentacles is seen stretched very straight from the lower left to the far right in this photo. This specimen was probably collected along the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
