Imaging technique: 

Courting pair of S. pharaonis with the larger male above the female. Male is continually stroking the dorsal body surface of the female while they swim. This is pre-copulatory behavior, but not mating itself. Note the iridescent blue stripe along the fin base of the female is now a dashed line (compared to the blue stripe in this image). Female is also showing mild zebra stripe pattern.
