Mating behavior in L. brevis with the smaller male grabbing the larger female and attempting to insert spermatophore into female's mantle cavity. A third squid is visible in the background near the bottom and is not involved in this interaction. Sexual dimorphism is typical of this species with males being smaller at maturity than females.
