Imaging technique: 

Adult S. sepioidea in flamboyant body posture consisting of twisted arms and mantle bands or bars. This body posture is usually displayed toward a potential threat or predator with the squid facing the perceived threat head-on. The squid usually holds this posture in a stationary position in the water column until either the predatory threat departs or an escape is required.
