Imaging technique:

Head-on view of the flamboyant body posture of S. sepioidea. The squid usually holds this posture in a stationary position in the water column until either the threat departs or an escape is required. When viewed from the perspective of the predator, this body posture is highly cryptic looking like a bit of floating seaweed in the water column.

Maturity: Adult; Lab or Wild: Wild; Field Location: Cayman islands
