Description: 

Small, hard coral species preferentially used by female Sepia latimanus for egg-laying. The female sticks her arms deep into this coral patch to deposit eggs one at a time, presumably to keep them out of the reach of reef fish. Dive knife shown for size reference. Water depth was 1.5 m.
