Imaging technique: 

The late Dr. Bill Hulet holding a large male L. forbesii just caught by squid jig at a depth of about 300 m off the island of Faial, in the Azores. This is the largest loliginid squid species and the individual pictured has a dorsal mantle length of about 70-80 cm. Note the dark red coloration and the very large head and eyes.
