Small swimming O. burryi attracted to an u/w nightlight station in the Caribbean Sea. An animal this size is still making the transition from a fully planktonic lifestyle to a fully benthic lifestyle. During this transition, the octopuses are often benthic by day but swim up into the water column at night to hunt. This animal was identified by collecting it and then growing it in the laboratory to a larger size.

Maturity: Juvenile; Lab or Wild: Wild; Field Location: Caribbean sea
