Deimatic defensive behavior (for definition see Hanlon and Messenger, 1996) by S. latimanus to an artificial fish threat. The young cuttle assumes a vertical head-high body posture presenting the dorsal mantle to the threat with multiple dark spots on a light background. This was a strongly stereotyped behavior.
